Tolminska is a song
The book presents a collection of published and unpublished texts by the teacher, museum expert and ethnologist Marija Rutar of Tolmin. She is the author of forty-six collected ethnological and national history texts. She was the initiator of the founding of the Tolmin Museum and remained its associate for many years. During this time she combed through the entire territory of the Tolmin region and meticulously made notes of her discoveries, and also published some of them. These and the yet unpublished notes are divided into three larger complexes: the first "From the Town of Tolmin …" speaks about life in the former Tolmin market town, and in the second titled "… to the Villages of Breginj" she presents the life of the village population from Trenta to the Šentviška plateau. The third complex gives a detailed presentation of her life and work. Marija's notes about life in the Tolmin area are not only interesting reading, but also indispensable study material for students of the past.
