The lake is rich with fish and this attracts fishermen
from all over the world. Amongst the fish thriving in the lake
the most known is the native Soča trout – Salmo trutta marmoratus
– which can grow quite big in size. The lake also hosts grayling
– Thymallus thymallus, brook trout – Salmo trutta fario,
hybrids between Soča and brooke trout, Californian trout – Oncorhynchus
mykiss, chubs – Leuciscus cephalus cabeda, italian
barbels – Barbus plebeius and crabs indigenous to Primorje
region. The indispensable sight of the lake’s image represent
a couple of swans and the family of ducks.
