Old village core of Breginj

The complex of two story stone buildings connected by corridors is a unique open door museum and the only remaining witness bearing the appearance of old Breginj, which was ruined during the 1976 earthquake. The harmonious, rational and environmentally adapted masonry of the Venetian-Slovenian architectural fashion is admirably preserved in the old village core, where one can learn about the housing culture of its past population.

The permanent photographic exhibition of Breginj, photographed by Jaka Čop before the fatal earthquake, is on display in its gallery and multipurpose rooms.
