The catalogue accompanying the archaeological exhibition Prehistoric Paths through Ferns uses small archaeological finds to present the life on the steep slopes of the Tolminka and Zadlaščica river valleys thousands of years ago, life along old mountain paths – the prehistoric paths connecting the area of Tolmin with Bohinj and other parts. The two oldest Mesolithic sites on Pretovč and in Čadrg are hidden under ferns, hence the catalogue title Prehistoric Paths through Ferns.

The monograph was published to accompany the exhibition and to commemorate the centenary of the church in Javorca, built during World War II on the fringe of the Isonzo Front. It has been translated into German; in terms of the contents, it consists of four parts. The forewords were written by Uroš Brežan, Mayor of the Municipality of Tolmin, and Msgr Dr Jurij Bizjak, Bishop of Koper. The second part consists of the contributions by three authors: in the article entitled The Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca – One Hundred Years of the "Basilica of Peace" Damjana Fortunat Černilogar presented the history of the church; Ernesta Drole contributed the article entitled Conservation and Restoration Work in the Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca, and Jelka Pirkovič authored two articles, Ecclesiastical Architecture and Art Nouveau from the Early 20th Century, and The Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit and Its European Values.
The third part is a presentation of three persons who played an important role in the construction of the church. The work of Remigius Geyling (1878–1974) is first presented by his grandchildren Jutta Geyling and Michael Geyling, and then in two shorter articles contributed by Damjana Fortunat Černilogar (First Lieutenant Remigius Geyling, a Viennese Art World Figure), and Alexandra Steiner - Strauss (Remigius Geyling – His Stage Creations after 1918). Jablonszky and Perathoner are presented in two contributions by Damjana Fortunat Černilogar, namely Gunner Géza Jablonszky (1876–1945), Hungarian Construction Worker, and Gunner Anton Perathoner (1888–1965), South Tyrolean Carver.
The final section is entitled The Book of the Dead – this is a list of 2,565 names of the fallen Austro-Hungarian soldiers, which are written on the oak plates in the Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca.

The catalogue For Whom the Bells Tolled presents a selection of large and small bronze, iron and brass bells from the archaeological and ethnological collections, as well as the repository of the Tolmin Museum. Some bronze items from the archaeological sites Loke – Kolenovica and Ajdovščina have been contributed by the Goriška Regional Museum (Goriški Muzej).
Since the area of Posočje has been characterised by the summer mountain pasture and pasture on the nearby lowland pastures since ancient times, most of the presented items are cowbells. The bronze Roman bells from the Vipava Valley are finds discovered at sites that have nothing to do with mountain pastures.

In connection with the exhibition of a strip Tolminski punt 1713, the Tolmin Museum also issued a book in colour, printed in Slovene and Italian.
The peasants of Tolmin, who strived to become exempt from harsh taxes, struggled for justice, and above all wanted a better future, were the first to rebel against the national authority and national taxes in 1713. The tragic story of the peasants of Tolmin has now been revived in a strip by Remigio Gabellini.

The catalogue deals with the finds made at the Bizjakova Hiša site in Kobarid, which was discovered during the archaeological monitoring of construction works in Gregorčičeva Street in 2010. Horse burial, alongside the weapons and other items belonging to Celtic warriors, is an exceptional find for the archaeology of the Posočje region, Slovenia and Central Europe. Based on the finds, the site has been dated at the beginning of the Late Iron Age, i.e. at circa 300 BC.

The new permanent exhibition of Tolminski muzej museum was created in 2003. It’s dedicated to archaeology, history, ethnology and cultural history. A guide deals with rich history of millenia of the Posočje region, from stone ages up to the 20th century. Emphasis is made on important historical events that influenced the most north-western part of Slovenia.

Twelve articles of various authors discuss weapons, fortifications and numerous invaders, conquerors and defenders of the territory around the upper stream of river Soča. In the introductory article, Damjana Fortunat Černilogar gives an overview of fortifications and fortification systems in the region from the 3rd to the 20th century. Articles of archaeologists Miha Mlinar, Andrej Gaspari, Beatriče Žbona Trkman and Fabrizio Bressan speak of weapons from prehistoric periods, of roman soldiers and of medieval cold arms and fire arms from Tolmin castle.
The following four articles give a more detailed introduction of different military facilities that served to house the army although they primarily served for defensive purposes. Kluže fortress is presented by Fedja Klavora, Vasja Klavora writes about fort Predel and Damjana Fortunat Černilogar presents the barracks of upper Posočje. Karla Kofol focuses on the construction of Italian fortification zone, called the Alpine Wall, and on the protection and fortification of Rapallo Border in her articles.
The final four articles relate to the period between the beginning of the World War II and the formation of Slovenian state. Blaž Torkar discusses the co-workers of allied secret services from the upper Soča river valley, Marko Klavora describes the life in the time of allied military administration in the Posočje region between 1945 and 1947, while Dušan Mijanović focuses on life and habits of ex Yugoslavian National Army officers in Tolmin region. Vito Berginc and Roman Medved conclude the book with a historic overview and the description of the operation of Territorial Defence in the Posočje region.

In the catalogue of the exhibition with the same name there are several contributions, which speak about the cultural landscape and the architecture in the area of Šentviška planota, upper Baška grapa and Trebuša. In the first contribution entitled In harmony with nature, the author Darja Pirih speaks about the development of the cultural landscape in this area, while the other article of Andrejka Ščukovt brings the description of the characteristics of the so called “škofjeloško-cerkljanski” architectural subtype, which is a prevailing one in this eastern most part of the Tolmin municipality. In continuation there follow two short contributions with the description of dwelling culture and the way of life in Petrovo Brdo and in the villages of the Idrijca valley. In the concluding contribution entitled Cultural heritage, its protection and role in the area, the protection of immovable architectural cultural heritage is presented. The later is performed by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, the Regional Unit of Nova Gorica. Numerous black and white photographies are added to the text, as well as the drawings of the most characteristic buildings which can still be seen in the villages presented.

In order to accompany the archaeological exhibition the Tolmin Museum published the bilingual brochure with the same title Treasure of Most na Soči Situla. The brochure is the miscellany and the catalogue of a temporary exhibition at the same time, in which the story of merely one museum object is presented. This museum object is the biggest in the archaeological collection of the Tolmin Museum. With the contributions of dr. Josip Korošec, Beta Benko, Jana Šubic Prislan, M.A. and Miha Mlinar we tried to unravel the secrets and the beauty of the large bronze situla from Most na Soči to the professional public and to the admirers of archaeology.

Vladimir (Frederic) Kaučič, alias Jean Vodaine, was born on 6 July 1921 in Volče near Tolmin. In 1924 he moved with his parents to Moselle in France, where he learned the shoemaker's craft, his father's trade. In 1947 he published his first collection of poems and bought a printing press. He published the first edition of the literary journal "Dire" in 1961. In the coming years he also painted, wrote poetry, designed posters, printed books and exhibited. He was awarded the medal of the Order of the Knights of Arts and Literature in 1999, in addition to the other prizes and awards he received in recognition of his work. A street in Baslieux was named after him in the following year.

Apart from his rich biography and bibliography the catalogue presents, in two extensive articles, his work in typography and his friendship with the photographer and translator Veno Pilon.
