Europe starts here!
European Heritage Label
The European Heritage Label brings together heritage sites with a symbolic European value that have played a significant role in the history and culture of Europe and/or the building of the European Union. These sites provide opportunities for visitors to connect with Europe’s rich cultural heritage and enhance their knowledge of European history and of the European Union. Launched in 2006 as a joint initiative by national governments, the European Heritage Label is today a European action implemented at European level. Since 2013, these sites have been selected for their symbolic value, the role they have played in European history and activities they offer. These sites bring the European Union and its citizens closer together.
The exhibition, prepared by the European Commission, presents 48 EHL sites (selections: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019), including three in Slovenia: Franja Partisan Hospital (2014), Javorca Memorial Church and its cultural landscape (2017) and Zdravljica – the Message of the European Spring of Nations (2019).
